Tukad Cepung Waterfall known as the best virgin waterfall in Bali. Not many people known this spot as tourist spot and currently it’s free to enter the area. However, the sport is well-maintained by local people and it would be kind if you give a tip to continue maintain this beautiful hidden spot
Tukad Cepung Waterfalls, unlike most waterfalls, this waterfall surrounded by cliffs that the circular shape. But you should be cautious yes, the river is above the waterfall can suddenly overflowed tablets. If so, you can not go this spot because it is very dangerous. We recommend that you ask in advance whether the river flow waterfall is being overflowed or not.
HOW TO GET TO TUKAD CEPUNG
Tukad Cepung Waterfall is super easy to get to by car or motorcycle. Located just outside of Ubud, we visited before our trip to Tibumana Waterfall and it turned out to be one of our favourites waterfalls near Ubud.
This epic waterfall has an adventurous, jungle like trail leading up to it and is famous for its crazy sun rays that shine through!
Easy to reach and only a 15 minute walk, this waterfall is family friendly and not too strenuous.

TUKAD CEPUNG WATERFALL BALI – UBUD’S HIDDEN GEM
Of all the Bali waterfalls, Tukad Cepung Waterfall was the most unique and magical one we visited. It’s becoming a hotspot amongst tourists, as well a very popular Instagram location.
The walk to get down to Tukad Cepung Waterfall was straight forward and easy enough. Although, unlike most Bali waterfalls, this one you had to wade through a knee-high river and over a few rocks to get there.
It took all of 15 minutes to get down to the enchanted location of Tukad Cepung Waterfall.
THE SUN RAYS
If you’re lucky enough to be chasing the waterfalls near Ubud on a sunny day, then you’re in for a treat. The stunning sun rays shine straight through the top of the falls creating natural beams across the canyon like rock formations.
You can swim in the waterfall and get pretty close without getting too wet from the spray, so get your cameras ready.
We headed straight to Tukad Cepung at around 10am, after our Tegalalang Rice Terrace visit, which is the perfect time of day to catch the crazy sun rays.
On the way down to the falls there is a little warung selling the usual Mie Goreng (vegetable noodles). So bare that in mind for the hike back up. We stopped off to chat to the locals and refuel which cost us 25,000 IDR for noodles along with water which was 10,000 IDR
How much time do you need
This trip can be a half- or full day trip, depends on how much time you have! I experienced that time flies here as not only the waterfall but also the surrounding is absolutely lovely.
Take a shower under the waterfall, enjoy a picknick on top of the huge rocks, swing with the lianas hanging down to the earth through the jungle-like area or start a yoga session to feel the freedom!
When is the best time to visit Tukad Cepung
There are no crowds you have to avoid, so you can just choose the time you want to go there. I went here in the beginning of April with a few rain drops from time to time. However the weather put this place in an even more magic light!
