How Bali Entrance Fees Work

✅ Good to Know

✓ Most sites charge per person, cash (IDR) at the entrance

✓ Sarong rental usually required at temples, often included

✓ Domestic vs. international prices can differ at some sites

❌ Watch Out For

✗ Parking often billed separately from entrance fee

✗ Entrance fees rarely included in a driver’s day rate

✗ Prices change without notice — always confirm on arrival

DIY Rental vs. Private Tour: What Actually Costs More?

A lot of travelers assume renting a scooter and driving themselves is cheaper than booking a private driver. Once you add up fuel, parking, wrong turns, and the entrance fees themselves, the gap is usually smaller than expected.

What you’re comparingSelf-drive / scooterPrivate tour with us
TransportationScooter + fuel, ~IDR 100K–150K/dayIncluded — private AC car + driver
NavigationOn you — GPS, traffic, wrong turnsHandled by a local driver

“Very reliable — used them twice”

We used Ubud Center 4 years ago and they were extremely reliable. We were lucky to get the same driver Rahkonco. I would highly recommend him. The prices are great too!

FAQ — Bali Entrance Fees

What is the most expensive entrance fee in Bali?

Among standard attractions, Bali Safari & Marine Park and Bali Swing packages tend to run the highest, often IDR 200,000–650,000+ depending on the package. Government-run sites like Besakih Temple and GWK Cultural Park are typically IDR 100,000–150,000.

Are Bali entrance fees included in a private tour package?

Not usually — most private driver day rates cover transportation only. Entrance fees are typically paid separately at each stop unless a package states otherwise. Ask us when booking if you’d like fees bundled into your quote.

Do children pay full price at Bali attractions?

Some attractions offer a reduced child rate, usually 30–40% below the adult price. Others charge the same rate regardless of age, or don’t publish a separate child price — it’s worth asking at the counter.

Which Bali attractions are free to visit?

Many beaches (Kuta, Seminyak, Sanur, Lovina), some temples (Ubud Palace, Campuhan Ridge Walk, Gunung Lebah Temple), and traditional craft villages (Mas, Celuk, Tohpati) are free to enter.

Do entrance fees in Bali change often?

Yes — prices can change with little notice. Ulun Danu Beratan raised its fees on 1 July 2026 and Uluwatu Temple raised its fees earlier this year, while a planned Tanah Lot increase was postponed. Treat any published price list, including this one, as a planning estimate.

Is it cheaper to visit Bali attractions with a private driver?

A private driver doesn’t reduce entrance fees, but it saves time and transport cost compared to individual taxis, and a local driver can help you avoid overpaying at informal parking or ticket counters.

Can I book a tour that covers multiple regions in one trip?

Yes — most of our regional tours (Ubud, North, East, West, South Bali) can be customized to combine attractions from this guide. Message us on WhatsApp with the places you want to visit and we’ll build a route and quote.
